The seating chart

Seven places a custom wedding song can play

Think of the day as a reception floor plan. Each table is a moment, with its own story to tell, its own sound and someone ready to press play.

  1. Table 1

    The walk in

Down the aisle, or through the reception doors as a married couple.

    In the song
How you met, the city you share, the date you picked. Save both names for the chorus so they land as the doors open.
    Sound
Calm and Romantic for the aisle; Danceable for a grand entrance. A Duet sounds like the two of you arriving together.TryBalladPop
    Who plays it
Your ceremony musician or coordinator for the aisle, the DJ for the entrance. Ask them to start at the chorus if the walk is short.
  2. Table 2

    The first dance

The first song you dance to as a married couple.

    In the song
The private details: the song from your first date, the phrase you always say at the door, one line of the promise you're about to make.
    Sound
Romantic or Calm, with a Duet if you'd like both voices. Practice in the kitchen to the MP3 for a couple of weeks.TryBalladR&BBolero
    Who plays it
The DJ or band laptop. Tell them the exact moment to fade if you'd rather hand the floor to your guests early.
30 first dance songs and tempo tips
  3. Table 3

    A surprise for your partner

From bride to groom, groom to bride, or partner to partner, before the ceremony or between courses.

    In the song
What only you know about them, the moment you decided, and what you want them to hear before they see you.
    Sound
Pick Female or Male voice so it sounds like it comes from you. Happy works when you'd rather make them laugh than cry.TryPopCountry
    Who plays it
The best man or maid of honor, with headphones while they get ready. Or schedule the gift email for that exact hour.
  4. Table 4

    The parent dances

Father and daughter, mother and son, or a parent and both of you.

    In the song
The parent's side of the story: the first bike, the long drives, what they taught you without saying it.
    Sound
Nostalgic or Romantic. A parent giving the song to the couple chooses Child as the relationship.TryBalladCountry
    Who plays it
The DJ, straight after the first dance. Give them the order in writing so nobody hunts for the file.
    Songs for the mother–son dance
  5. Table 5

    The wedding film

Under the highlight reel your videographer cuts after the day.

    In the song
The whole arc: how it started, the proposal, the people who got you there. Mention the vows in your story so the editor has a line to cut to.
    Sound
Calm or Nostalgic, steady enough to cut to. Bossa nova feels warm without pulling focus from the footage.TryBalladBossa nova
    Who plays it
Your videographer, with the MP3 a week or two before the wedding. Our rights in the song pass to you, so the film can be posted.
  6. Table 6

The send-off and the night before

The rehearsal dinner, the welcome party, the last dance or the sparkler exit.

    In the song
The friends who were there at every stage, the inside jokes, the trip where it all got serious.
    Sound
Festive or Danceable, loud enough for a room. A bridesmaid or groomsman giving it to the couple can pick Friend.TryPopBachataSamba
    Who plays it
A small speaker at the rehearsal dinner, the DJ for the last dance. Have the lyric video ready for the screen if there is one.
  7. Table 7

    The first anniversary

A year later, on the couch, with the film and a bottle you saved.

    In the song
Nothing new to write: the song you already have becomes the one you replay every year.
    Sound
Whatever you chose on the day. Keep the lyrics PDF framed and the gift page link somewhere safe.TryBalladBossa nova
    Who plays it
You two. Open the private gift page or the MP3 and press play together.
Table for two

The only song on the night nobody has danced to before

Every table above can play a song written from your story, with your names sung in it.

Two full versions first, then decide

Practical planning

When to make it, and who gets which file

The song takes minutes. The planning around it is what makes it play at the right moment.

Timing

  1. A month or more out

    Tell the story together

Sit down with a coffee and write a few memories each. Different details from each of you make the lyrics richer.

  2. That same evening

    Listen apart, then together

Lyrics arrive in about a minute and two full versions a minute or two later. If a line isn't quite you, edit and generate again; the page shows the rounds left.

  3. A week or two before

    Send the files

Pay for the version you both love, download everything and send each vendor their file with a note on when it plays.

  4. On the day

    Let someone else press play

You have enough to do. Put one person in charge of the cue and keep the MP3 on a second phone, just in case.

Who gets which file

  • Your DJ or bandMP3Entrance, first dance, parent dances, last dance
  • Your videographerMP3For the highlight film; the song is yours to use

  • Programs and framesLyrics PDFPrint it for the guest table or frame it at home
  • Your partner, if it's a secretGift page link and QR codeOr a gift email that arrives at the time you pick
  • Keeping it a surprise

Order on your own and nothing reaches your partner until you send it: share the private gift page when you're ready, or schedule the gift email for the morning of the wedding.

What we don't do

  • We can't promise an exact length. Your DJ can fade it out after the chorus.
  • It's a recorded song, not a live version or a performer at your venue.
  • We don't imitate a real singer or copy lines from existing songs.

From the tables

What happened when the song started

  • A groom in a white shirt and olive suspenders sits on a hotel bed with headphones on, laughing and wiping one eye, while his red-bearded best man crouches beside him holding a phone (AI photo, fictional people)
    Bride to groom
His best man played it to him while he was still in his suspenders. I wasn't in the room, but Derek walked down the aisle already grinning.
    Jasmine T.Savannah, GA
  • From the bridesmaids
Four of us chipped in for the rehearsal dinner. We put in the karaoke night where Lena met Tom, and by the second chorus the whole table was singing.
    Priya K.Edison, NJ
  • Two grooms at a candlelit head table with olive garlands: one in an ivory suit covers his face with both hands, laughing, while the other in a sage suit hugs him and beams (AI photo, fictional people)
    Our entrance
We walked into the barn to a song with both our names in it, plus the dog's. Kenji hid behind his hands from the doors all the way to our seats.
    Marcus L.Portland, OR
  • Father–daughter dance
I can't sing and I barely dance. I could write down who she was at six, at sixteen and the morning of her wedding. The DJ faded it right as I ran out of steps.
    Robert H.Columbus, OH
  • Parents of the bride at a long terrace table at dusk: the mother in a terracotta dress dabs a tear with a napkin and smiles, the father in an olive blazer holds her hand and laughs (AI photo, fictional people)
    From her parents
We gave it to Sofia and Ben the night before. I had promised myself no tears until the ceremony. I lasted exactly one verse.
    Teresa F.Providence, RI
  • Groom to bride
I'm not a speech guy. I timed the gift email for while she was in the hair chair, so the song said everything I'd have mumbled at the altar.
    Chris P.Denver, CO
  • A couple on a linen sofa at night watch something on a laptop on their knees: she laughs behind her hand, he leans his head on hers, a closed wedding album on the coffee table (AI photo, fictional people)
    First anniversary
Our videographer cut the highlight film to it. One year on we watched it on the couch, and I still laughed at the line about the rented moving truck.
    Anjali S.Austin, TX
  • A bilingual wedding
Half our guests speak Spanish, half English, so we made two: the entrance in Spanish, the last dance in English. Both grandmothers got a verse.
    Elena V.Miami, FL

How it works

From your story to the dance floor in four steps

About ten minutes on your phone, and you only pay once you've listened.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about you two

Both names, how you met, a few memories. Choose Wedding as the occasion, the relationship and a voice.

  2. Step 2

    Read your lyrics

AI turns your story into lyrics in about a minute, with your details in the verses and your names in the song.

  3. Step 3

    Hear two full versions

Both songs follow a minute or two later, lightly watermarked. Change the words, style or mood and generate again; you'll see how many rounds remain.

  4. Step 4

    Send it to the day

Pay for the version you love, then download the MP3, lyric video and lyrics PDF, or send the private gift page.

Questions

Before you make your wedding song

Straight answers for couples and parents. Anything else, just email us.

How far before the wedding should we make it?

The song itself is quick: lyrics in about a minute, two full versions a minute or two later. Still, start a few weeks out so you both hear it, have room for a round of edits, and can get the files to your DJ and videographer a week or two before.

Can it include both our names and our vows?

Yes. Put both names in the story and tell us which comes first in the chorus. Paste your vows or the line you plan to say: the lyrics carry their meaning in fresh words rather than quoting them, so the ceremony keeps its surprise.

Can we use it in our wedding video?

Yes. After you pay, our rights in the song transfer to you, so your videographer can cut the film to the MP3 and you can post it. If you'd also like it on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, add a release at checkout.

Can it be our first dance song?

Yes. Choose Romantic or Calm, a ballad, R&B or bolero, and Duet if you'd like two voices. Practice to the MP3 for a couple of weeks so the steps match the chorus.

First dance songs and tempo tips

Can I keep it a secret from my partner?

Yes. Order on your own with Spouse or Boyfriend / Girlfriend as the relationship. Nothing is sent to your partner until you share the private gift page or schedule the gift email, say for the morning of the wedding.

Can our song be in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian?

Yes. Choose English, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian as the song language. For a bilingual wedding, make one song in each language, for example the entrance in one and the last dance in the other.

Can we change it before we pay?

Yes, within a limit. Edit the lyrics, style or mood and generate again; the page shows how many rounds you have left. Once you pay, the song itself is final.

How long will the song be?

Length varies from song to song, and we can't promise an exact running time; our two samples run 4:24 and 2:48. If the walk down the aisle is short, your DJ can fade it out after the chorus.
