For the husband who means it

Custom song for wife: the love letter you never quite wrote.

Tell us where you met, her morning ritual and the joke only she laughs at. We write the lyrics and record two versions with her name in the chorus; you keep the one that sounds like her.

  • Her name, sung
  • Two versions to compare
  • From $34.99

Why it never gets written

Three things that stop husbands, and the way past each

Nearly every man who wants to give his wife a song stalls in one of three places. None of them takes talent to get past.

  1. “I'm not a writer.”

    The draft in his head

Roses are red, violets are blue…

    Try this instead

You don't write the song. You write notes, the way you'd text a friend, and spelling and order don't matter. Turning them into verses is our job.

  2. “It'll come out cheesy.”

    The draft in his head

You mean the world to me.

    Try this instead

Cheesy comes from big, general words. Swap them for one small true thing, like the way she reads the last page of a book first. Specific always sounds sincere.

  3. “I don't know what to say.”

    The draft in his head

Happy anniversary to the best wife ever.

Answer the five questions below. Most men are done in ten minutes, and their answers turn out to be the song.

Five questions, ten minutes

How to write a custom song for your wife

Every one of our custom songs for wives starts the same way: a handful of true details. Answer what fits, skip what doesn't, and paste it all into the story box.

The story box

Five answers, one box

On the form, all of it goes into a single story box, in any order. Add her name, how long you've been together and the occasion, and you're done.

  • Her name
  • Years together
  • Your five answers
Start her song

On the form, a wife is Spouse; a girlfriend or fiancée is Boyfriend / Girlfriend. Choose any genre, mood or voice, and change them after you've heard the first two versions.

  1. Two blank paper ticket stubs and a frayed festival wristband resting on an old denim jacket (AI photo)

    Question 1

    Where did it start?

The first scene of your story is usually the first verse of hers.

    Jot down

    • Where you met, and what the weather was doing
    • The first thing she said, or the first thing you noticed
    • What neither of you knew yet
    A husband might write
Freshman year, the laundry room. She'd shrunk my only good sweater and laughed for a full minute.
  2. Tortoiseshell reading glasses on an open paperback with a hair clip for a bookmark, beside a mug of tea (AI photo)

    Question 2

What does she do that nobody else notices?

Tiny habits become the lines she recognizes in the first second.

    Jot down

    • Her first ten minutes of every morning
    • The song she hums, or always gets wrong
    • The thing that drives you mad and that you'd miss most
    A husband might write
Reads the last page of every book first. Says it's so she can relax.
  3. A cold cup of tea, a folded knitted baby blanket and a softly glowing baby monitor on a rainy windowsill at dawn (AI photo)

    Question 3

    What has she carried?

This is where a song stops being cute and starts being true.

    Jot down

    • A hard season she got the family through
    • Something she gave up or took on without a fuss
    • The moment you knew you'd married the strongest person you know
    A husband might write
The year the twins came she ran the house on three hours' sleep and still remembered my mom's birthday.
  4. Two mismatched ceramic mugs side by side on a kitchen counter, one chipped and well loved (AI photo)

    Question 4

What do you call each other?

Nicknames and running jokes make it unmistakably the two of you.

    Jot down

    • Pet names, including the embarrassing ones
    • The joke that still gets her every time
    • A word only your household uses
    A husband might write
She calls me Captain because I got us lost on our honeymoon. Twice.
  5. Two gold wedding bands on a folded linen napkin beside dried lavender, a fountain pen and blank writing paper (AI photo)

    Question 5

What do you want her to know now?

The sentence you never quite say out loud often becomes the chorus.

    Jot down

    • What you'd thank her for, in one sentence
    • What you're looking forward to together
    • How you'd finish the line “I still…”
    A husband might write
That I'd pick the same laundry room again. Every single time.

Example answers are ours, written to show the idea. They aren't from real orders.

A real song, from a real husband

How Daniel turned ten years with Emma into a song

Ordinary Days is a real order from this site, for their tenth anniversary. Read it like the letter it is, and hear what a personalized song for your wife sounds like when it's built from a few true details.

Handing it over

How to give it to her

Most wives want to hear it twice: once with you there, and once again on their own. Four ways husbands do it.

  • Scheduled email

    Breakfast in bed at 7:30

Schedule the gift email for the minute you'll walk in with coffee. She opens it; you sit on the edge of the bed.

  • QR code

    Tucked inside your card

Print the QR code and write a few lines of your own around it. She scans it and her gift page starts to play.

  • MP3

A slow dance in the kitchen

Play the MP3 from your phone while dinner's on, hold out your hand and say nothing. Let the first verse explain.

  • Gift link

    When you can't be there

Away for work or deployed? Send the private gift link and stay on the call while she presses play.

Four steps, sealed

How to create a song for your wife

You can create a song for your wife in the time it takes her to walk the dog, and nothing is charged until you've listened.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about her

Her name, the occasion, how long you've been together and your answers to the five questions. Rough notes are fine.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the sound

Pick a genre, a mood and a voice: male, female or a duet. It can be sung in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian.

  3. Step 3

    Hear two versions

Both arrive minutes later with a soft preview watermark. Want a different line or sound? Ask, and two new versions come back.

  4. Step 4

    Seal it and send

Pay for the one you love, add photos and a note to her gift page, then send it now or schedule it for the right moment.

FAQ

Before you make your wife a song

Straight answers about tone, voices, timing and what happens if it isn't quite her.

Will she think it's too much?

Only if it's vague. Songs full of “forever” and “my everything” feel like a greeting card; a song about the raincoat she wore the day you met feels like you. Tell us the tone in your story: playful, tender, or a full custom love song for your wife. Moods like Happy or Nostalgic keep it light.

Can it include our private jokes and nicknames?

Please do; those are the lines she'll replay. Write them the way you'd say them, and if a name is unusual, add how it's pronounced in parentheses. If a line comes out wrong, change it before you pay.

Can a man sing it, or a woman?

Either, or both at once. Choose Male voice so it sounds like it comes from you, Female voice for a softer feel, or Duet for two voices trading lines. Ordinary Days, the song above, uses a female voice.

Can I make a song for my wife if I can't write or sing?

Yes. You don't write lyrics or sing a note. You answer a few questions about her, and we write the words and record the song. Most husbands finish the form in about ten minutes.

I'd rather write a song for my wife myself. Can you help?

You write the story, we write the song. If you already have a line or two, put them in your story and we'll build around what they say. Before paying, you can change lyrics until it sounds like the two of you.

Can it mention our kids?

Of course. Add their names and one memory each, and say whether the song is from you or from all of you. A chorus with the kids' names in it is a Mother's Day favorite.

Do custom songs for your wife work for Mother's Day or an anniversary?

Both, and more. Pick the occasion on the form: Anniversary, Birthday, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Wedding, or Just because for anything else, like a new baby or the end of a hard year.

Anniversary songs, year by year

How fast is it, and how do I give it to her?

Two versions are usually ready two to three minutes after you send your story, and everything unlocks the moment you pay. Send the private gift link, schedule the gift email for an exact time, print the QR code in a card, or play the MP3 yourself.

What if it doesn't sound like her, and what do I get?

Then don't pay yet: change a line, the mood or the voice and two new versions come back (the app shows how many edit rounds remain). When you buy, your customized song for your wife comes as an MP3, an MP4 lyric video and a lyrics PDF, plus her gift page, and we transfer our rights in the song to you. After payment, purchases are final except as our refund policy describes.
