On the day

How to give a custom birthday song so it lands on the day

Once you've paid, the song goes wherever suits them. Most people pick one of these, and some do all five.

  1. 7:00 a.m.

The gift email lands as they wake

Schedule it the night before for an exact time. It opens a private gift page with the song, your photos and your note.

  2. 12:30 p.m.

A link in the family chat

Paste the gift link into a text or WhatsApp thread so everyone hears it on their lunch break.

  3. 7:30 p.m.

    Right before the candles

Play the MP3 on a speaker, or the lyric video on the TV so the table can follow the words.

  • Any time zone

Open it together on a video call

Share your screen with the gift page and watch their face when the first verse starts.

  • Inside the present

A card with a QR code

Print the QR code in a birthday card. It plays the song long after the wrapping paper is gone.

  • Running late?

    It's their birthday today

About ten minutes to write the story, two or three more until both versions are ready, and the email can still go out later today.

    Start it now

How it works

Wrapped up in four steps

Most people finish in one sitting, usually on their phone.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us who it's for

Their name, who it's from, the occasion, and three to five details you'd want them to hear.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a sound

A genre, a mood, a male voice, a female voice or a duet, and the language it's sung in.

  3. Step 3

    Hear two versions

Both arrive a few minutes later with a light preview watermark. Change a line or the style and two fresh versions come back.

  4. Step 4

    Choose one and give it

Pay for the version you love, add photos and a note to the gift page, then send it now or schedule it for their day.

FAQ

Before you order a personalized birthday song

Straight answers about what we write, how fast, and how it reaches them.

Who can I give a personalized birthday song to?

Anyone you can tell a few true stories about: a partner, a parent, a best friend, your child, a grandparent, a coworker. Pick the relationship on the form, or choose Other and say who they are to you. It can come from you alone or from a whole group.

What should I write about them?

Three to five specifics beat a list of adjectives: a habit, a phrase they always say, a place, something that happened this year, and how you want them to feel. You don't write any lyrics; that part is ours.

Is this a custom birthday song generator or maker I use myself?

Not quite. There is nothing to arrange or mix. You write a short story about them, we write and record an original song from it, and you hear two full versions before deciding. If a line is off, edit it and two new versions come back.

How fast will it be ready?

Both versions are usually ready two to three minutes after you send the story. The downloads and the gift page unlock as soon as you pay.

How do I make sure they get it on their birthday?

Schedule the gift email for the date and time you choose, or share the gift link yourself in a text or chat. You can also play the MP3 at the party or print the QR code inside a card.

Will the singer say their name right?

Usually, yes. For an unusual name, add how it sounds in parentheses, like Niamh (NEEV), and check both versions before paying. Our page on happy birthday songs with a name goes deeper.

Birthday songs with their name

Can I have their song sung in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian?

Yes. Choose the song language along with the style: English, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian. For a grandparent, their first language can make the whole song feel like home.

What if I don't love it?

Then you don't pay. Change a line, the mood or the voice and two new versions come back; the app shows how many edit rounds you have left. After payment, purchases are final except as our refund policy describes.

Which files do I get, and can I share them?

An MP3, an MP4 lyric video and a lyrics PDF, plus a private gift page with a link and a QR code. We transfer our rights in the song to you, so you can keep it, play it at the party and post it.
